Lleida Province

Lleida province is a province of Catalonia that abuts with France to the north and is crowned by the maginificent Pyrennean mountain chain.

Scars of its history are scattered around the landscape like discarded confetti and evidence of its violent past is everywhere to be seen.

One of the most memorable events that changed the course of history and better summarizes the violence of the times, was the total eradication of a Religious Order; that of the Order of the Templars.

It took only a few days to massacre the flower of the Order's  chivalry, a Order that had basked in the limelight of glory for so many centuries and was now considered a pariah on the very fabric of society.

The footprints of these lost knights of the round table, in Lleida, capital of the province of the same name in the Autonomous region of Catalonia, are still there although, because of lack of attention from the local authorities, evidence of their passing is crumbling slowly into the earth.
