The capital city sits, strategically placed, in between the Rioja Alta – the more mountainous western part and the drier eastern part of Rioja Baja.

Briñas

In the northern part of the Autonomous Region of La Rioja, Briñas is isolated in a sea of vines that stretch as far as the eye can see.

There’s no getting away from it. Wine is what makes La Rioja what it is. In the centre of the wine region, Haro, there’s even a huge free-for-all on the 29th June when everyone throws wine at each other – no doubt failing miserably to get out of the way!

Haro

The old town of Haro conserves many buildings that date back to the roots of its establishment. Narrow streets conserve a character that is generous by nature and exuberant in form.
